Stephanie Adwoa Konadu
Civil Engineering, Level 200
WinE KNUST has profoundly impacted my life this year. Through WinE Connect, I gained a lifelong mentor, an inspiring woman in the industry. SHECAN empowered me with a transformative truth: regardless of background, a woman can achieve greatness and become unstoppable.

Mary Afua Saah Opoku
Geomatic Engineering, Level 400
I’m Mary Afua Saah Opoku, a 4th year Geomatic engineering student, KNUST. Being apart of WinE has not only encouraged me to go all out and and work towards achieving my dreams of becoming a successful female engineer, but has also made me realize that, women are not limited to what career paths to choose and they can do what ever they put their minds to.
Dankwah Ellen Baah
Biomedical Engineering, Level 200
“I first got to know about WinE KNUST during SheCan 3.0, and that experience was unforgettable. From then on, I made it a point to participate in every WinE program. WinE has given me opportunities and exposure I never imagined — from working with amazing people to gaining hands-on skills in areas like machine learning Through SheCodes,an initiative by WiNE KNUST.I joined a team that took part in a challenge(SheCodes challenge), and we eventually won. Through WinE Mentorship and WinE Connect, I gained a mentor, Engineer Alberta, who continues to guide me through my academic and professional growth. I also got to know avout RAIL and even went through their Mentorship Program through WinE. The WinE Horizon Conference also opened doors to connect with industry leaders and inspiring individuals I wouldn’t have met otherwise. Not forgetting SheCan 4.0 which reminded that Beyond Backgrounds I could do anything. From the classroom to various outreaches (SHS schools) to a lot of extracurricular activities, WINE has given me that platform and encouragement. Being part of WinE KNUST family has truly shaped my journey, equipping me with knowledge, skills, and a strong network to thrive as a woman in engineering.” Thank you very much WiNE KNUST
Sandra Opoku
Telecommunications Engineering, Level 300
I'm Sandra Opoku, 3rd year Telecommunications Engineering. I served as the women's commissioner for the 2024/2025 academic year. I will start off with the WinE Connect that took place in March; I had the opportunity to listen to professional female engineers who shared their lifetime experiences with us and also gave us the opportunity to ask every question we needed answers to. Not only that, we are still in touch with them, and they have assured us to contact them in times of need and for opportunities in our various fields. WinE KNUST brought to my way a number of virtual summits that made me learn more. There were other in person programs that I served as MC and usher, which I considered as opportunities to improve myself. In summary, I will say WinE KNUST has been a source of opportunities that people pay to get them, and i am very honoured to receive such opportunities.
Emmanuella Senior Kusi
Metallurgical Engineering, Level 100
As a budding engineering student, my first encounter with WinE completely amazed me. It opened my eyes to how much engineering can be entertaining, inspiring, educative, and more. Seeing capable women in engineering like Ing. Mrs. Jane Naki Tetteh-Anowie, the WinE Ghana President; Dr. Augustina Angelina Sylverken, a virologist; and Ing. Mary Doe, the Former WinE KNUST President, come in and discuss their careers, life as engineers, and other topics was just too inspiring. As a member, WinE KNUST did not only give me the chance to connect with like-minded individuals and mentors and a platform to develop my skills and confidence. It gave me the passion to pursue engineering. Now, I can boldly say that to me, WinE KNUST isn’t just a club or society; it is the beginning of my engineering story!
Emmanuella Araba Otoo
Electrical Engineering, Level 400
I'm Emmanuella Araba Otoo. A final year Electrical and Electronics engineering student. When I first stepped onto campus as a fresh Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, I had no idea what the journey ahead would hold. Looking back now, I realize how fortunate I was to find the WinE-KNUST community. This is not just an association—it is truly a family that nurtures, supports, and empowers. Through WinE-KNUST, I have been mentored by incredible women who inspired me to aim higher. I gained the courage to lead, the wisdom to grow, and the heart to serve. The SheCodes initiative was another turning point, equipping me with valuable coding skills. These skills are not just technical—they are stepping stones into a competitive job market. Every experience here has shaped me into a more confident, capable, and visionary engineer. I am deeply grateful for the bonds formed, the lessons learned, and the dreams ignited. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that with the right people around you, you can achieve more than you ever imagined.
